Liverpool and England defender Stephen Warnock will be a guest of honor at the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament, presented by Greater Zion, on February 6-9.

Warnock, who is also a leading commentator on NBC Sport’s coverage of the Premier League, will be at tournament venues in St George and Mesquite next month to meet fans and hand out awards.

The former Liverpool star made over 210 appearances in the top flight of English soccer before retiring in 2018 and was a member of the England World Cup squad at the 2010 World Cup.

His presence at the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament further underlines the event’s growing status as one of the most prestigious soccer competitions in the region.

More overseas teams will make the trip in 2025, including clubs and players from Liverpool and Birmingham in the UK and Calgary in Canada, as well as more from across Europe.

Warnock, who has been a global ambassador for 7 Elite Academy since 2019, said: “Every year I come to the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament, I see a big improvement in standards.

“The development opportunities offered by this tournament mean players can access trials with professional academies in Liverpool and meetings with college scouts in the United States.

“Our new partnership with the Las Vegas Mayors Showcase is bringing in even more overseas teams and help to raise the standards of play to even higher levels.

“With the World Cup coming in 2026, this is a very exciting time for soccer in America. By tapping into that passion for the game, we can create even more opportunities for young people.”

The 7 Elite Academy International Tournament runs over four days at some of the most spectacular youth soccer venues in the country, with a full program of family entertainment.

Nick Nield, Tournament Director, added: “Stephen has been a great friend of 7 Elite Academy for many years, so I am delighted he will be returning to our tournament in 2025.

“His presence not only brings a lot of interest from college coaches and professional academies recruiters, but also attention from the media across the country.

“That attention helps to create a spotlight where players can thrive and secure new opportunities to progress their careers in soccer and education.”
