Respect & Fairplay

Fair Play Commitment

We strongly believe in fair play and fostering an inclusive environment. Everyone—whether playing, watching, refereeing, coaching, volunteering, or involved in any other capacity—should always feel safe, respected, supported, and welcomed with dignity.

At the Zion Cup, we are committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for everyone involved—players, coaches, referees, families, volunteers, and spectators alike. This policy outlines our expectations for conduct and reinforces our commitment to fair play and mutual respect.

1. Core Values

  • Respect: All individuals must be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of background, ability, role, or outcome of the game.
  • Integrity: We expect honest and ethical behavior both on and off the field.
  • Sportsmanship: Win or lose, participants should show grace, humility, and encouragement toward others.
  • Safety and Inclusion: Everyone has the right to feel safe, supported, and welcome throughout the tournament experience.

2. Code of Conduct

Players

  • Compete with integrity, play by the rules, and respect referees, opponents, and teammates.
  • Avoid foul language, aggression, or unsporting behavior.
  • Celebrate effort and improvement, not just outcomes.

Coaches

  • Model respectful and positive behavior at all times.
  • Encourage players to value teamwork, learning, and enjoyment over winning.
  • Do not argue with officials or engage in confrontational conduct.

Referees

  • Officiate fairly and consistently, upholding the rules of the game.
  • Treat players, coaches, and spectators with professionalism and respect.
  • Report serious misconduct or violations promptly.

Spectators

  • Support all participants with encouragement, not criticism.
  • Do not shout at, confront, or harass referees, players, or coaches.
  • Respect the decisions of officials and the spirit of the game.

Organizers and Volunteers

  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and well-organized environment.
  • Take all reports of misconduct seriously and act promptly.
  • Ensure tournament rules and this policy are clearly communicated and upheld.
3. Zero Tolerance

We have zero tolerance for:

  • Discrimination, harassment, or abuse of any kind.
  • Physical or verbal threats.
  • Bullying or intimidation.

Any individual found violating these standards may face disciplinary action, including warnings, removal from the venue, or disqualification from the tournament.

4. Reporting Concerns

Concerns regarding disrespectful or unsafe behavior should be reported to a tournament official or designated tournament staff member. All reports will be handled confidentially and with care.

By participating in the Zion Cup, all individuals agree to uphold this Respect and Fair Play Policy.
